AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Police Department in collaboration with the The Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the apparent homicide of a 37 year-old woman.
The victim, identified as Ericka Weems, was discovered at her home in the 900 block of Hardesty Blvd following a welfare check on Monday.
According to police, Weems suffered several gunshot wounds including a fatal shot to her head.
No information on a motive or potential suspects has been released. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Akron Police Department.
