Discount Drug Mart begins taking appointments for COVID-19 vaccinations

More than 100,000 people have already registered for their vaccine at Discount Drug Mart as part of the Phase 1B portion of the state’s vaccination program.

MEDINA, Ohio — Discount Drug Mart has joined the list of Northeast Ohio pharmacies now making appointments to distribute the COVID-19 vaccine.

The pharmacy chain will administer COVID-19 vaccines developed by Pfizer and Moderna at its 76 locations throughout Ohio.

Discount Drug Mart has set up a dedicated COVID-19 vaccine website and Information Line to guide people through the process: You can go online and make your appointment at covid.discount-drugmart.com or call 1-844-625-0843.

According to a release, more than 100,000 people have already registered for their vaccine at Discount Drug Mart as part of the Phase 1B portion of the state’s vaccination program, which targets Ohioans 65 and up. The state began vaccinating those residents 80 years of age and older on Tuesday.

“In most ways, it’s positive to see the high demand of people wanting to be vaccinated,” says Jason Briscoe, Director of Pharmacy Operations at Discount Drug Mart. “While supply is limited right now, more doses are on the way. Those who want the vaccine will get it, as early as this week for some and in the very near future for others.”

Discount Drug Mart says its process allows those registered to be continually updated and engaged by Discount Drug Mart from the point of registration to appointment day through the following weeks when scheduled for their second dose.
