$100,000 worth of carfentanyl seized by Stark County Sheriff's Office

Carfentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is 10,000 times more potent than morphine.

Agents from the Stark County Sheriff Office's Metro Narcotics Unit seized $100,000 worth of suspected heroin/carfentanyl during a raid on Thursday.

Officers executed a search warrant at a house in the 2100 block of 26th Street NE in Plain Township and seized 24 ounces of suspected heroin/carfentanyl. Agents also seized a handgun, $12,141 in cash, scales and other drug paraphernalia.

The resident, 44-year-old Victor Lynn Waiters, was arrested on one count of Possession of Heroin , one count of Weapons Under Disability, and one count of Illegal Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

"When these deadly drugs are removed from our community lives are saved and Stark County becomes safer for everyone,” said Stark County Sheriff George T. Maier. “The Stark County Sheriff's Office Metro Narcotics Unit will continue to fight back against the local drug epidemic by working diligently to take dangerous drugs and criminals off the streets.”
