Crowds gather at Edgewater Park on Memorial Day

Crowds gathered at Edgewater Beach on Memorial Day with varying degrees of physical distancing taking place.

From a distance, Edgewater Park looked as it would on any other holiday weekend with great weather, with full parking lots and crowds on the beach.

Despite views from the outside, however, up close, there were varying forms of physical distancing taking place, including visitors trying to keep distance from one another and some people even wearing masks.

Additionally, there is a heavy police presence, keeping people off the grass and managing traffic in and out of the park. As Ohio eases regulations amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, large public spaces such as Edgewater Park figure to face plenty of scrutiny, especially as the weather gets warmer and summer approaches.
