"God only knows what could have happened on that day."

According to Euclid Police Captain Mitch Houser, officers received a tip from a security officer at Euclid High School on Friday that a dangerous situation might unfold once classes were let out. The security officer learned of the would-be fight from concerned students who had heard of the threat.

Houser says police recovered four guns, while arresting at least a dozen people. Some of the guns were loaded.

"What really shines through for this particular incident is the kids who heard about the threat and weren't afraid to go forward and tell security," Houser told 3News on Monday. "And if that information hadn't been passed along, and security hadn't gotten police involved, God only knows what could have happened that day."

Extra security will now be in place at Euclid High School in the coming days.
