Fire at Polo Club Apartments in Strongsville reignites a day after being put out

No one was hurt in the rekindled blaze.

STRONGSVILLE, Ohio — *EDITOR'S NOTE: The above video is from a previous report.

Officials confirm that The Polo Club Apartments in Strongsville burst into flames again less than 24 hours after an original fire was extinguished.

Authorities got a 911 call just after 3:15 a.m. Sunday that reported a new blaze in the same location as the one from early Saturday. The fire "had smoldered in the roof structural members" and apparently reignited.

Crews arrived at the scene minutes later and were eventually able to put the fire out again, a task made more difficult by the extreme cold in the area. Firefighters from Brunswick, Middleburg Heights, and North Royalton assisted in the effort.

The initial fire broke out around 12:20 a.m. Saturday and destroyed many of the complex's third-floor units. While no one was hurt, 28 occupants were displaced.
