Ohio woman reported missing in Arizona during cross-country trip found safe

PEORIA, Ariz. — An Ohio resident who had been reported missing in Arizona has been found safe.

Police in Peoria, Arizona report that 31-year-old Jennifer Barnett, who had not been heard from since February 2, was found safe on Tuesday. 

Barnet and her boyfriend Gary DePriest were apparently taking a cross-country camping trip. They were traveling in a silver Dodge Durango with an Ohio license plate of JLV9603.

Police say Barnett's family recently received a call that she may be in danger. "My last messages from her are very disturbing," posted Jennifer's mother, Brenda Hughes, on Facebook. "I am very concerned." Barnett's cell phone was no longer on and she and DePriest had not been active on social media during the past several days.

"Thank you," Hughes wrote on Facebook on Tuesday afternoon. "Prayers have been answered. Jennifer is safe. I have not talked to her but I know she was found and is safe."
