As the final week of the NBA's regular season gets underway, the Cleveland Cavaliers are solidifying their roster with an eye towards the playoffs.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Dave McMenamin, the Cavaliers are signing veteran big man Kendrick Perkins with the final roster spot available for the postseason.

Perkins was a late-season addition to the Cavs' roster in 2015, playing in 17 regular season games and 8 playoff games as the Wine and Gold advanced to the first of three straight NBA Finals appearances.

He was signed by the Cavaliers last September and played in three preseason games before being waived. Perkins subsequently joined the Canton Charge of the NBA's G League, playing in 27 games prior to leaving the team in February.

The 13-year veteran played for the Boston Celtics from 2003-11 and was a key part of the team's run to the 2008 NBA Championship. Perkins was traded to Oklahoma City in 2011 (his current Cavs teammate Jeff Green was a part of that deal). and stayed with the Thunder until being traded to Utah in 2015. He was waived shortly after the deal and signed with the Cavaliers.

The 33-year-old Perkins has a lifetime average of 5.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game.
