WATCH | Isaiah Thomas finds LeBron James for alley-oop as Cleveland Cavaliers take first-half lead

The Cavs' new star combo seems to be gelling just fine.

CLEVELAND -- LeBron James and Isaiah Thomas only have seven games as teammates under their belts. But the Cleveland Cavaliers' new star duo seems to be doing just fine.

During what was an action-packed first half in the Cavs' Martin Luther King Jr. Day matchup against the Golden State Warriors, the highlight of the night when Thomas and James showed what their combo is capable of. With less than five minutes remaining in the second quarter, Thomas drove the paint, drawing a double team from the Golden State defense. As the Warriors converged on the 5-foot-9 guard, Thomas went up for what looked like a layup, only to loop a pass to an already leaping James.

From there, 'The King' did what he does best, slamming it home for an alley-oop dunk -- his third of the night.

James would finish the first half with 20 points, as Cleveland took a 64-57 lead into halftime. As is often the case against Golden State, the Cavs are sure to have their hands full in the second half. But if nothing else, the Thomas-to-James combo has provided plenty of promise in Cleveland's quest to knock off the defending NBA champs.
