Baker and Emily Mayfield announce new partnership with Progressive

On Wednesday, Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield and his wife, Emily, announced a new marketing partnership with Progressive.

MAYFIELD, Ohio — Over the course of the past two years, Baker Mayfield has been no stranger to endorsement deals.

Between partnerships with Nike, PSD Underwear, Body Armour and Bose, the former Heisman Trophy winner has been every bit a pitchman as he has been a quarterback since the Cleveland Browns selected him with the No. 1 pick of the 2018 draft.

His latest partnership, however, is a little different.

While most of Mayfield's endorsement deals have been done across the country, he didn't have to travel far for his latest pitch project. On Wednesday, Progressive announced a new marketing partnership with Mayfield and his wife, Emily, which will see the duo star in a national ad campaign for the Mayfield Village-based insurance company.

Titled "At Home with Baker Mayfield," Northeast Ohio's most famous newlyweds will star in a 16-week episodic content campaign throughout the 2019 football season centered around the premise of what life would be like if Baker and Emily lived inside of First Energy Stadium.

On Wednesday, Progressive unveiled multiple clips from the campaign, featuring the Browns' quarterback mowing his new lawn and dealing with a faulty circuit breaker.

"I was drawn to Progressive because it's a high-energy, winning team. They thrive on accomplishing what's never been done before and what others say can't be done," Baker Mayfield said in a press release. "My life story and process have been different from others, so I felt right at home with Progressive because their journey has been a little different, as well. Emily and I both feel like it's okay to be unique, prove doubters wrong, and be proud of it. We think it'll be fun for people to tune in throughout the season to see how the whole story unfolds."

According to Progressive, "At Home with Baker Mayfield" is the first-ever "season within a season" episodic content series. It will feature weekly 30 second ads, the first of which will debut on Sept. 5, 2019 during the NFL season kickoff between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears.

On Wednesday, Baker and Emily Mayfield each took to Instagram to announce their new partnership.
