Report: Cleveland Browns in process of re-designing uniforms

The Browns won't be able to wear new uniforms until 2020 at the earliest.

CLEVELAND -- There's an old adage in sports: Look good, play good. One could argue that since 2015, the Cleveland Browns have done neither.

While the Browns have struggled on the field, with a 4-44 record over the course of the last three seasons, their re-designed uniforms, which debuted in 2015, have received a mixed reaction -- at best -- from the Cleveland fanbase. It doesn't appear, however, that the Browns' current uniforms will be for long, as according to ESPN Cleveland's Tony Rizzo, the team is in the process of performing another aesthetic overhaul.

This isn't the first time ESPN Cleveland has reported that new uniforms could be on the horizon for the Browns. Last May, Tony Grossi reported that team owner Dee Haslam confirmed that another uniform re-do could be in the works and that the team could replace their orange helmets with white ones, which the Browns originally wore from 1946-1950.

It currently remains unclear whether the Browns' uniform redesign will mark a return to their former, more traditional threads, another dramatic overhaul or a combination of the two. Due to NFL uniform rules, the earliest Cleveland could debut a new look is 2020, as teams are required to wear any uniform iteration for at least five years.

But for those of us who aren't fans of the team's current look -- including this WKYC.com digital producer -- we at least now know that some sort of overhaul is on the way.
