AKRON, Ohio — It turns out Bachelor Nation's resident Dad didn't dodge any questions, after all, while trying to win the heart of Katie Thurston on season 17 of The Bachelorette.
Akron's own Michael Allio reveals he told Katie that he won't move out of Ohio, and that she was open to joining him in Northeast Ohio, in a wide-ranging interview on the 3 Things to Know with Stephanie Haney podcast.
"Night two, we start talking about where would we live, our jobs, our goals, our aspirations, real questions! If this thing's expedited, you better get down to it really quickly," Michael said.
"We discussed where we would live, and I remember the first time I answered it I said I was flexible mainly in the Midwest, like Chicago... and then later on in the season I came back to her and I admitted that I'm not flexible at all.
"My community is here, James' support is here, his school's here, my sister lives down the street... We talked about it often, and she was willing to move to Akron. She said it multiple times."
Despite that, "Michael A." shares why he has no regrets over choosing to leave the show for his son James, what would have to happen in order for him to be the next Bachelor, and how being a single dad prepared him for keeping his cool on the show.
