A Canton McKinley High School teacher who last month was filmed slamming a student to the ground has resigned, the school district confirmed to WKYC.
A spokeswoman for Canton City Schools says Ken Weatherbee left his position back on Dec. 21, and that his exit was in direct relation to the incident that had occurred two and a half weeks prior.
The video was submitted to the Canton Repository. The district called his actions "disturbing and unprofessional."
In a brief statement to WKYC Wednesday, the district spokeswoman said, "We just want to move forward."
