2 fatal shootings in Akron on New Year's Eve: Timeline of shootings

A 38-year-old woman, 35-year-old man were killed in separate shootings.

AKRON, Ohio — Akron Police are asking for help from the public after two deadly shootings on New Year's Eve. 

Here is a timeline of when and where the separate incidents happened: 

7:45 p.m. Brittain Road 

A 38-year-old woman was killed and a 5-year-old girl was injured after a shooting in the 1300 block of Brittain Road. 

Akron Police responded after receiving reports of gunshots fired at around 7:45 p.m. 

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a 38-year-old woman and a 5-year-old girl with gunshot wounds. 

The victim's name has not been released yet and the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy. 

The 5-year-old girl, who is expected to survive, was transported and treated at Akron Children's Hospital. 

At this time, the shooting is under investigation and no arrests have been made. 

11:55 p.m. Louisiana Avenue 

A 35-year-old man was killed in a deadly shooting in the 1200 block of Louisiana Avenue. 

After arriving at the scene, Akron Police determined that the shooting happened inside of a residence. The victim, whose name has not been released, was taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center.

The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office will conduct an autopsy on the victim. 

At this time, no arrests have been made.
