Cleveland's St. Patrick's Day parade to return in 2022

The parade has been canceled in each of the past two years due to COVID-19.

CLEVELAND — On a day that has seen a wintry burst of snow across Cleveland and Northeast Ohio, here is some news that will definitely lift your spirits.

The Parade Committee of the United Irish Societies of Greater Cleveland has announced the return of the Cleveland St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17, 2022. The parade has been canceled in each of the past two years due to COVID-19.

The theme of this year's parade will be "Ireland's Scenic Coastlines."

"The Parade Committee is currently in the planning process of the Parade, including working with elected officials and public health officials to ensure a safe return to the Avenue," the committee wrote on its website and Facebook page. "We look forward to seeing you on the Avenue!"

Organizers say Cleveland's St. Patricks' Day parade is "Ohio's oldest and finest comprising approximately 10,000 participants in 125 units." It's one of the main reasons why Cleveland has annually been selected as one of the best cities in the nation in which to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
