ESPN's Tom Rinaldi talks sports prior to hosting Greater Cleveland Sports Awards

Tom Rinaldi weighed in on the College Football Playoff and the Browns' QB search.

CLEVELAND -- ESPN correspondent Tom Rinaldi stopped by WKYC's morning show to talk sports with John Anderson Wednesday morning.

Rinaldi is in Cleveland to host the Greater Cleveland Sports Awards at the Renaissance hotel Wednesday night.

"It's such a great night to celebrate Northeast Ohio and its great sports heritage," Rinaldi said of the event, which is expected to draw its largest crowd ever.

Rinaldi also weighed in on the College Football Playoff, noting that he doesn't see an expansion happening anytime soon.

He also offered a little insight on the Cleveland Browns quarterback search, hinting that fans and the front office should take a harder look at quarterbacks who win, citing examples like Deshaun Watson and Russell Wilson.

"I'm not going to convince you on Baker Mayfield," Rinaldi said. "What I am going to say is, sometimes, we turn a blind eye to this thing called winning. ...Look at the quarterbacks typically who have really succeeded recently."
