The news follows a devastating fire that broke out at the restaurant in August

AMHERST, Ohio — Amherst is going to the dogs... hot dogs that is.

Just weeks after the devastating fire that took out Hot Dog Heaven, a long-revered location in Lorain County, the restaurant has announced the opening of a permanent food-truck spot in the city.

Hot Dog Heaven broke the exciting news to fans on Facebook Friday afternoon, writing that the temporary location in the Hastee Tastee parking lot will open on Monday, September 14.

"We will be operating on a smaller level so not all items will be available," the restaurant wrote on Facebook, "We will offer the following items at Regular Menu Price."

They did however ease the minds of some of their most devoted fans, letting them know that on top of their signature "dogs," menu items like keilbasa, burgers, corn dogs, and chicken tenders would still be available for purchase.

Fans were quick to comment on the Facebook post, expressing their excitement over the announcement.

"Oh thank God," one commenter wrote, "a lot of us were going through withdrawal symptoms!"

The restaurant will only be accepting cash and credit at this time and will be open from Monday-Friday, opening at 11:00 a.m. and closing at 8:00 p.m.

Starting Monday, Hot Dog Heaven food truck will be open in the Hastee Tastee Parking lot from Hours 11am-8pm...
