Streetsboro man indicted for murder after dirt bike dispute

Authorities say a Streetsboro man has been indicted for murder following a dispute over a dirt bike.

Summit County Prosecutor Sherri Bevan Walsh confirmed today that a Summit County Grand Jury has indicted William Knight, 63, of Streetsboro, in connection with the shooting death of Keith Johnson, 24, of Akron.

The Summit County Grand Jury indicted Knight on the following charges: two counts of murder, each with a gun specification; and two counts of felonious assault, both with a gun specification.

According to the prosecutor's office, on the evening of March 20, 2017, Knight shot Johnson once in the head, striking Johnson near his right eye.

The incident happened following a dispute over a stolen dirt bike. Earlier that day, Knight's son-in-law noticed his dirt bike, which had been stolen in February of 2016, was for sale on a social media site.

Knight is scheduled to be arraigned in Summit County Common Pleas Court on April 19.
