Report: Cleveland Cavaliers agree to one-year deal with guard Matthew Dellavedova

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the deal will pay Dellavedova the veteran's minimum.

CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Cavaliers will apparently be keeping one of their two lone remaining players from their 2016 NBA Championship team around for another season.

On Monday, ESPN's Olgun Uluc and Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Cavs had agreed to terms on a one-year deal with veteran guard Matthew Dellavedova. Per Wojnarowski, the contract will pay the veteran's minimum to the 30-year-old native of Australia.

Dellavedova began his NBA career with the Cavaliers in 2013-14 and spent three seasons in Cleveland before departing to the Bucks in a sign-and-trade deal following the 2016 championship season. He returned to the Cavs in a three-team trade with the Bucks and Wizards in December of 2018.

Last season, Dellavedova averaged 3.1 points and 3.2 assists in 57 games played, including four starts. In the last three games before the NBA suspended play due to COVID-19, he averaged 9.7 points and 11.0 assists.

Dellavedova and Kevin Love are the last remaining members of the 2015-16 Cavaliers team that brought Cleveland its first world championship in 52 years.
