Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb shot down speculation about his team being interested in Deshaun Watson.

Last week, Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield made headlines when he publically responded to an article on a Browns blog suggesting the team should consider making a run at disgruntled Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.

"Some of y'all 'browns' are funny," Mayfield posted on Twitter while retweeting the article along with an "OK" hand emoji.

And while Mayfield's response may have only fueled speculation and given sports talk debate shows a new subject to discuss, Cleveland's 25-year-old quarterback isn't the only member of the Browns backfield to feel that way.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, running back Nick Chubb was asked about Mayfield's public response and whether he agreed with it. The two-time running back made it clear he did, stating that he believes there isn't much of a conversation to be had.

"I agree with Baker. He was right to call those guys out. He's our guy, he's our quarterback," Chubb said. "He's been tremendous for us. He's a great teammate, a great friend of mine. That's our guy. We'll live and die with Baker."

It's worth noting that the Browns aren't the only -- or even most consistent team -- to have been linked to Watson since he reportedly requested a trade from the Texans last month. While some have debated the topic of what a trade offer from Cleveland might look like, teams like the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets have been much more attached to the speculation regarding the three-time Pro Bowl quarterback.

None of that, however, means much to Chubb, who was drafted by the Browns in the same year as Mayfield in 2018. As far as he's concerned, there's only one quarterback he sees a future with.

"Oh for sure. I came in with him and I've seen how he's progressed throughout the years," Chubb said. "He's a great quarterback, a great playmaker, a great everything. He makes the right decisions, he makes great passes. He's a special player. I want to be with Baker as long as I can."
