Cleveland man accused of shooting at motorist during Rocky River road rage incident; 911 audio

The suspect has been identified as Eli Nieves, a 24-year-old man from Cleveland.

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio — Police in Rocky River are investigating a road rage incident that took place earlier this month on Clifton Blvd. 

Around 11:30 p.m. on June 19, police received a call from a motorist stating he had been shot at multiple times by another driver. The caller was traveling on Clifton Blvd. at the Marion ramp. 

During the investigation, police learned the caller had possibly been involved with a road rage incident and the other vehicle involved allegedly drove up next to his car and the front seat passenger pointed a gun at him and fired several times.

The victim stopped to call police and the other vehicle continued traveling towards Lake Road.  

The suspect has been identified as Eli Nieves, a 24-year-old man from Cleveland. Detectives from the Rocky River Police Department have obtained a warrant for Felonious Assault.

Officers recovered five 9mm shell casings from the scene. No injuries were reported.
