Cleveland Browns concert announcement: Billy Joel and Rod Stewart to hold joint concert this September

It's going to be a big night for rock 'n' roll as Billy Joel and Rod Stewart take the stage at Cleveland Browns Stadium on Friday, Sept. 13.

CLEVELAND — After speculation swirled across social media about their “special concert announcement,” the Cleveland Browns have revealed that rock ‘n’ roll icons Billy Joel and Rod Stewart are coming to the city for a joint stadium performance this summer.

The big concert is set for Friday, Sept. 13 at Cleveland Browns Stadium. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, Feb. 2 at 10 a.m. Ticket prices will start at $73.

It's the first time both Joel and Stewart have performed on the same stage. Officials say Stewart will open the show and Joel will close out the night.

This announcement comes just days after news surfaced that Joel is dropping a new single — "Turn the Lights Back On" — next week on Feb. 1.

Stewart, meanwhile, has a new album — "Swing Fever" — coming out Feb. 23.

Both have been inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Joel was honored with the class of 1999. Stewart, a two-time inductee, first entered the Rock Hall with the class of 1994 and again in 2012 with The Small Faces/Faces.

This marks the second concert event scheduled for Cleveland Browns Stadium this year as the Rolling Stones previously announced their plans for a June 15 performance. Tickets went on sale for that show back in December.

HOW TO WIN TICKETS

All next week, 3News and Live Nation will be giving viewers the opportunity to win premium seats to the show. All viewers have to do is watch "What's Next" each night at 11 p.m. for the Icons of Rock daily codeword and enter it on wkyc.com/contests for their chance to win.
