The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced three special events that will come to the museum over the next month. One will honor one of the most famous bands in the world, while another will have its own local spin.
Mar. 16-17: KISS Fan Weekend
KISS will hold a concert at Quicken Loans Arena on Mar. 17, and the Rock Hall will celebrate by airing special screenings of the band's unedited 2014 induction ceremonies throughout the weekend. Many KISS artifacts will be on display (including Peter Criss' drum set from 2000), and fans will have unlimited free play in the "Rock & Pinball" exhibit that features two KISS pinball machines. In addition, KISS music will be played heavily in the museum, and all KISS merchandise from the Rock Hall store will be 10 percent off.
Apr. 5-6: Cover your Basses Weekend
With the Toronto Blue Jays coming to town to play the Indians, the Rock Hall will highlight many of its Canadian inductees. Geddy Lee's bass collection will be displayed one more time, and rebroadcasts of Rush's 2013 induction will be shown. A highlight reel featuring several Canadian rockers will also be featured.
2019 marks the 40th anniversary of the recording of the iconic song "Cleveland Rocks," and special guest Steve Popovich Jr. will be on hand to celebrate the revival of his father's Cleveland International Records brand. Museum goers will be treated to a special listening of a new all-star compilation record and a three-hour cut of the 1995 Concert for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Additionally, the piano Ian Hunter used to write "Cleveland Rocks" will be displayed in the Cleveland exhibit.
