Blossom Music Center bans concertgoers from bringing personal lawn chairs to events

Patrons can still sit in lawn chairs, but must rent them from Blossom ahead of time. The new policy does not apply to Cleveland Orchestra performances.

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls announced an interesting new policy Thursday, banning all prospective concertgoers from bringing their own personal lawn chairs to "Live Nation promoted events."

In a statement posted to social media, officials cited efforts to "improve venue entry" as well as "security purposes" as reasons for the change. Guests can still sit in lawn chairs, but must rent them in advance directly from Blossom and pick them up on the day of the show.

Blossom did not share additional information surrounding the policy, and it is not known if any other locations contracted with Live Nation are instituting the same rules. It is worth noting, however, that the guidelines will not apply to any Cleveland Orchestra performances, so patrons will still be able to bring their own seats to such concerts.

Blossom is closed for the season, so the ban on personal lawn chairs will not truly be felt until 2024. As of now, the venue's next scheduled concert is Noah Kahan on May 28.
