New in Town: Jason Mikell pays a visit to Sandbox VR in Crocker Park

With four large holodecks, you will be transformed in a different time and place.

WESTLAKE, Ohio — Between the day-to-day hustle and bustle of appointments, work, children, and so much more, we often yearn for a great escape.

What if that great escape was to another dimension, another realm, another galaxy where you’re fighting off zombies or aliens through a virtual reality experience?

There’s a new out of this world experience in Crocker Park that does just that. 3News' Jason Mikell heads west to Sandbox VR in a new episode of "New In Town."

Nestled in the heart of Crocker Park’s shopping plaza and open 7 days a week (including holidays) with four large holodecks, you will be transformed in a different time and place. Sandbox VR offers up rooms for parties, company events, friends, and family.

"We have Hollywood motion cameras in there," store manager Ryan Johnson says. "You're going to have wrist trackers on, you're going to have ankle trackers on. They're going to pick up on all of your movement inside the experience."

Sandbox VR will soon be adding two new experiences, with six currently available. With limits of up to six people in a holodeck room, Johnson tells us it is a great and fun experience, no matter your age.

Bookings start at $50 per guest!
