Lakewood family reunited with dog lost in Akron thanks to good Samaritans

Bentley the dog went missing while staying with his owners' parents.

LAKEWOOD, Ohio — A dog from Lakewood, who went missing while staying with family in Akron, is back with his family -- after he was on the run for almost a week.

Bentley the dog was staying with his grand-paw-rents in Akron while his paw-rents and human siblings were on vacation. He escaped, and his grand-paw-rents were frantic as they tried to find him. They even put up posters with his picture.

Enter Maureen and Steve Foley. They are both retired and have decided to dedicate their free time to helping families find their lost pets.

Maureen saw a poster for Bentley, so she reached out to Cathy for details. The Foleys found out where the Bentley was last seen, and set up several traps and cameras in that area to see if they could spot him and catch him.

After several long days had passed, Bentley appeared on the camera then wandered into the trap, getting caught! Cathy went out to the trap to collect Bentley, and she was careful only to open the trap after the two arrived home.

Now, Bentley is back with his family, who is so grateful to the Foleys that the kids wrote them thank you cards and made a donation in their name. Bentley also looked pretty grateful to be home where he belongs.
