'Sunshine Bags' created by Lorain mom and daughter to help children in emergency rooms

The bags contain soft blankets, coloring books, and other items to help make hospital visits a little less scary for kids.

CLEVELAND — Ever since Rayna Chrosniak had to spend time in the hospital as a little girl, she knew that she wanted to help other children in the same situation.

Along with her mom, Crystal, the Lorain youngster has come up with a special idea to make that mission a reality. They're called "Sunshine Bags."

Rayna came up the concept after having to make several trips to the emergency room and doctor's offices due to some health issues. She realized that there aren't many materials in the ER to help distract children or make them feel more comfortable.

So she decided to make bags with soft blankets, coloring books, and other items to help make hospital visits a little less scary.

Crystal and Rayna appeared with Laura Caso on Thursday's edition of Front Row. They said they have 10 completed "Sunshine Bags" that are going out this week, with 10 more set to go out next week. Their goal is to have 50 bags donated to local emergency rooms by this summer.

How can you help?

The Chrosniaks have created an Amazon wish list with items that you can purchase to help fill the "Sunshine Bags." You can also follow Rayna on Facebook and Instagram.
