GREENSBORO, N.C. — We get it. Life got in the way! You've been too busy to think of a costume. Or maybe you didn't have any plans until your friend sent you an invite the day before.

Whatever the reason, we've got you covered.

Here's a list of last-minute costumes you can wear to your next Halloween event.

Pop-culture

A fan of the hit shows The Last of Us or The Walking Dead? Apocalypse costumes are easy to throw together. Grab some jeans, an old T-shirt, and a jacket. If you really want to take it up a notch, distress your clothes to make them look dirty and torn. Splatter some fake blood on yourself and grab some toy weapons. Now, you're ready to battle the infected.

You could even go a step further with the makeup and fake blood to become a full-blown zombie

The outfits of popular cartoon characters are a fun way to make a quick but recognizable costume. Many of their outfits are made of simple outfits with a specific color scheme, which can be easy to recreate at home. Here are some examples.

Rick and Morty fans need a blue shirt and a lab coat for Rick and a yellow shirt and brown pants for Morty. Adventure Time fans only need a white shirt and blue pants for Finn and an all-yellow outfit for Jake. And who can forget the iconic duo Princess Bubblegum and Marceline the Vampire Queen? All pink and all-black outfits will get the message across. The options are truly endless.

Black dress with a white colored shirt underneath, now you're Wednesday Addams! Grab a friend to dress in colorful clothes to go as her sidekick, Enid.

If you want a good laugh at a party, all you need is a red striped shirt, some jeans, and a red and white beanie. Boom! Now you have a Where's Waldo costume.

Old Faithfuls:

For a vampire, a black dress, cute tights, and some makeup will help you achieve an un-dead look. Smear some red lipstick for blood, and draw on a vampire bite on your neck using an eyeliner pencil.

For a more masculine look, wear dark clothing and pop your collar for a more Dracula-esque look. Smudge some dark eye shadow under your eyes and draw on a vampire bite.

A mini-dress, big sparkly sunglasses and heels will make you a perfect pop star! To make it a couple's costume, have your other half bring a camera for the perfect paparazzi.

Alternatively, some fitness clothes and any sort of sports ball can make you an athlete! Have your partner wear a whistle to be your coach.

Who could forget a dorky nerd costume, with suspenders, thick-rimmed glasses and a button-up shirt?

Repurpose:

Check your local thrift stores! Many costumes are only worn once before being tossed out. Your local thrift could stock some gently used costumes you can choose from for cheap!

Did you go see The Eras Tour? Repurpose your tour costume to go as Taylor Swift in one of her many iconic looks.

Beyonce fans can relive the Renaissance Tour by re-wearing the all-silver, futuristic looks that were worn to the costume. Even better if you can pull of a Bey and Blue Ivy matching look.

Were you a Barbie and Oppenheimer fanatic? Repurpose the costumes you wore to the theater and relive the Barbenhiemer craze of the summer.

If you're an avid Renaissance Fair attendee, you can go in your medieval get-up to your next Halloween event.

If you have an old Halloween costume collecting dust in your closet, don't be afraid to bust it out again. You can still have a fun, spooky time while sporting a costume from days of old.

Easy Peasy:

If none of these tickle your fancy, here are some ideas that are minimum effort.

American Idol Contestant: wear your favorite outfit and print out an American Idol contestant number to pin to your shirt.

Go as your career: Nurses can sport scrubs, journalists can bring their trusty cameras, and mechanics can put a couple of tools in their pockets. Put a creative twist on things you already wear day-to-day.

Are you a huge fan of a band? Maybe you have a concert shirt from when you saw them live. Put on your concert tee, some black pants, a baseball cap and sunglasses, now you're a tech for your favorite artist.

On the flip side, wear a concert tee, print out a picture of your favorite artist and sign it. Now, you're a super fan.

Any gamer will be familiar with the Sims franchise. In order to be your favorite Sim, all you have to do is put on an outfit and print out the green diamond that floats above the Sims' heads. Tape the diamond to a headband.

And last but certainly not least, a sheet ghost. Take any old sheet you have and cut some holes in it for your eyes. Some people put sunglasses over the sheet, some pair the sheet with fishnet stockings, and some even use a patterned sheet to really make the ghost their own. Whatever floats your boat.

If nothing else, we hope these ideas help you get some inspiration as we gear up for the final days of Halloween.
