Wags 4 Warriors: Roxy celebrates International Assistance Dog Week

'She is going to help a veteran in need, but there are so many other dogs that help so many other kinds of people.'

CLEVELAND — Roxy is getting closer to being paired with a veteran as her Wags 4 Warriors training continues.

This week is extra special because Roxy joined us Tuesday in celebration of International Assistance Dog Week.

“It’s just to recognize how hard working the assistant dogs are, and to bring awareness to everybody that they’re not like all dogs and they do so many good things for different kinds of people. … She is going to help a veteran in need, but there are so many other dogs that help so many other kinds of people.”

DeLorenzo said Roxy could hit another growth spurt soon.

“She’s still very treat motivated. We do not give her as many treats as we used to, but she’s still like, ‘Give it to me. Come on.’”
