VALLEY CITY, Ohio — A new Food Pantry Box has been installed at the Valley City Depot, 6651 Center Road for those in need.

Through combined efforts of the Valley City Boy Scouts of America Troop 502, LifeSpring Community Church and the Valley City Community Group, the food box was built and installed on Saturday, May 16, 2020 in a secure and lighted location.

"We [the trustees] are absolutely happy to 'Okay' this for the community," said Liverpool Township trustee Paul Schaefer.

A driveway near the food box has been decorated with a banner to promote the effort, which also lists the phone number for LifeSpring Community Church's Food Pantry for citizens who may need additional assistance.

Churches in the area have promoted the new box and Food Pantry's services to their congregations and have volunteers monitoring the box daily to keep items available and current.
