The first homicide took place on January 5 at approximately 7:30 p.m. Officers responded to the 2100 block of West 81st Street due to reports of a man that had been shot. When the officers arrived to the scene, the 38-year-old victim was located on the street next to his vehicle.

Officers rendered aid to the victim as they waited for Cleveland EMS to arrive. The victim was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center. On January 6, the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.

After an initial investigation into the incident, it is believed that the 42-year-old suspect is the boyfriend of the victim's sister. The suspect and the victim's sister had been involved in an ongoing dispute when the victim went to his sister's house.

The victim was shot while at his sister's house by the suspect who then fled the house in an undisclosed vehicle.

The second homicide took pace on January 8 at approximately 1:55 p.m.

Officers responded to the corner of Lakewood and Durant for reports of a man who had been shot.

Aid was rendered to the 33-year-old victim before Cleveland EMS transported him to University Hospitals where he was pronounced dead.

An initial investigation of the incident revealed that the victim entered the In & Out Beverage store in the area. When he exited the building, he was approached by three armed suspects who shot the victim multiple times including one gun shot wound to the head.

The suspects were seen fleeing in a red vehicle. Cleveland police believe the suspects attempted to rob the victim before shooting him.
