Cleveland man arrested in Miami, Florida for two separate shootings

Marlon Benn was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for aggravated murder and felonious assault.

MIAMI — A Cleveland man who was wanted by police for aggravated murder and felonious assault has been arrested.

The U.S. Marshals say that Marlon Benn was arrested in the 6900 block of North Miami Avenue in Miami, Florida. Benn will be held in local custody until he is extradited back to Ohio.

Benn allegedly was involved in two separate shootings including one on April 30, where he allegedly fired multiple rounds at a 29-year-old woman who was occupying a vehicle on West 59th Street. The woman was not struck, but the vehicle sustained damage.

Additionally, Benn is alleged to have been involved in a double shooting that took place outside the Power Cabaret and Madusa Restaurant & Lounge on St. Clair Avenue on July 23. According to police, Benn exchanged gunfire in the parking lots and 34-year-old Tramaine Locklear was taken by private auto to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead after being shot multiple times in the chest. A 44-year-old woman was also hurt after being shot in the leg. 

“The US Marshals Service in Northern Ohio and the Cleveland Division of Police continue to work together to make the city of Cleveland a safer place. Today, progress was made, as another violent shooter was arrested and will be brought back to Ohio to faces charges,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott
