2 murdered in shooting outside Cleveland bar, suspect in custody

Anybody with information on the incident is asked to call the Cleveland Police Department.

CLEVELAND — Gunfire erupted overnight in a deadly shooting outside Club Alma Yaucana on W. 25th Street in Cleveland.

Police were called to the scene just after midnight Monday, where two people were killed.

One of the victims has been identified as 36-year-old Giovanni Santanis-Rojas of Cleveland. The other has only been identified as a 32-year-old man.

Cleveland police say two others were also hurt, one of which is a suspect. One victim is in "critical condition" while the other has "serious injuries."

Police say the suspect, identified as Elias Eli Colon, suffered several gunshot wounds and was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he remains in police custody.

Initial investigation revealed that the shooting started as a result on a verbal altercation inside the bar. Bar patrons were ushered out at closing, when Colon allegedly began making threats with a handgun. Witnesses reported hearing shots fired soon after.

Police say additional suspects have not been identified.
