Cuyahoga Falls police: Man killed after fatal shooting

Police say that there is no ongoing public safety concern.

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio — An investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed in Cuyahoga Falls.

Cuyahoga Falls police say the shooting happened on Saturday, Aug. 5, at around 5:57 p.m. in the 2000 block of Germaine Street. 

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found 62-year-old Richard Luft in the backyard with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.

Police say that they attempted to render first aid to Luft, but he died as a result of his wounds.

At this time, the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department says that all parties involved have been identified and there is no ongoing public safety concern. 

The Cuyahoga Falls Police detective bureau and Ohio BCI are currently investigating the shooting.
