Summit County Sheriff's Office: Man arrested after violating protection order, possessing explosives

Several 'homemade explosive devices and components to manufacture explosive devices' were found at the residence along with weapons and ammunition.

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — A man was arrested in the City of Green on Saturday, February 18 for violating a a protection order and manufacturing or possessing explosives.

According to the Summit County Sheriff's Office, officers responded to a call regarding a domestic incident Massillon Road on Saturday. According to the woman who lives at the residence, 48-year-old Emmanuel Remenyi entered the home in violation of a protection order.

By the time responding officers arrived, Remenyi had left the area. During a search of the residence, several explosive devices were located inside of the home. Officers evacuated the apartment complex as a result to continue their search for more devices.

After the search was completed, several more "homemade explosive devices and components to manufacture explosive devices" were found along with weapons and ammunition.

Remenyi was arrested and charged with illegal manufacture or processing explosives and violation of a protection order.  He is currently being held at the Summit County Jail.
