MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in finding the person who carjacked a woman Monday afternoon at Eastgate Plaza in Mayfield Heights.
Police say a man had attempted to carjack four different vehicles before forcing a woman out of her 2016 Hyundai Elantra at gunpoint around 3:36 p.m.
The suspect then fled the scene in the stolen vehicle, traveling northbound on Som Center Road.
“The vehicle has since been spotted in the Euclid and in the Shaker Heights areas,” authorities tell 3News.
Witnesses told police the suspect was wearing a dirty white face mask at the time of the incident. He was allegedly carrying a small semi-automatic handgun.
Police say the vehicle’s registration is Ohio plate HHM2740. Anybody with information is asked to call the Mayfield Heights Police Department.
