Getting a taste of some All-Star Cleveland sports bars near Progressive Field

Checking out some local favorites as Opening Day approaches.

It's no joke, the Cleveland Indians are set to throw out their first pitch of the season this Monday, April Fool's Day. Tribe fans are ready and making plans on where to go to catch all the action.

Well, before you make any decisions, let me take you out to my top bars to rally behind your favorite team. Best part, there's a spot for every tribe fan just steps from Progressive Field.

First Stop: The Clevelander - 834 Huron Road E.

Let's be real, a great sports bar is only as great as its food and beverages. Don't worry, I took one for the home team and chowed down on a delicious veggie burger and sipped on a neon blue electric lemonade. I also got the scoop on the legendary crowd that packs the bar and patio during Tribe season from bartender Parker Knapp.

Fans of this long-time favorite bar rave about their one-of-a-kind burgers, savory wings and endless beer selection. It's easy to see why The Clevelander should be a top pick as a pre or post game stop -- you may even end up staying through the 9th!

Second Stop: Re:Bar - 2130 E. 9th St.

Just around the corner on E. 9th, you'll find Re:Bar, a popular spot known for their craft cocktails. Thanks to a shared kitchen with another local favorite, Panini's, Re:Bar offers the full Panini's menu plus a few of their own specialty menu items.

General Manager Rachel Ulloa told me that their exclusive Panini's french bread pizzas play homage to Stouffer's, which originated here in Cleveland!

Thanks to its unique industrial decor, Re:Bar might make you leave you feeling like you're in downtown Miami or NYC. This could be a great option for anyone wanting to catch the game without the typical sports bar vibe.

Third Stop: Wild Eagle Saloon - 921 Huron Rd.

It's no wonder Wild Eagle Saloon calls itself an "ultimate adult playground."

They offer indoor bocce courts, vintage arcade games and more -- and we haven't even gotten to the amazing food (you have to try the mac n' cheese balls) or the "inebriation station!"

General Manager Russ Mengle gave me the lowdown on their popular self-serve beer wall. You just buy a beer card, load it up and pour away!

Wild Eagle is also known for live music, so there's a little something for everyone. Before I left, I made sure to try out the bocce court and let's just say, Russ owes me a drink!
