PAINESVILLE, Ohio — Rivers around Northeast Ohio, including the Grand and Chagrin rivers are being affected by ice jams.
Painesville closed its Recreation Park Tuesday due to flooding concerns on the Grand River.
In Eastlake, the city's mayor and safety director Dennis Morley is monitoring things closely. Rain would help break the ice loose preventing backups upstream.
The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Grand River due to an ice jam. As of Tuesday morning, there was minor flooding in the park, but the water continued to rise.
