CLEVELAND — When it comes to receiving high-quality medical care, Northeast Ohio is one of the best places to be.
Once again, Cleveland Clinic has been ranked as the No. 2 hospital in the world on Newsweek's World's Best Hospitals 2023 list.
Among the top 250 hospitals in the world, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital and Cleveland Clinic Weston notched a spot on the list as well.
The ranking is based on surveys and data that came from over 2,300 hospitals spanning 28 countries.
“The world's best hospitals consistently attract the best people and provide the best outcomes for patients as well as the most important new therapies and research,” said Newsweek Global Editor-in-Chief Nancy Cooper. “Of all the hospitals in the world, relatively few can do all those things year in and year out. The best belong to a very exclusive club.”
Here is a full list of the top five hospitals in the world according to the list:
- Mayo Clinic - Rochester
- Cleveland Clinic
- Massachusetts General Hospital
- The John Hopkins Hospital
- Toronto General - University Health Network
Newsweek also released a list of the best hospitals in the United States, which included the following Cleveland Clinic locations:
- Cleveland Clinic – No. 2
- Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital – No. 38
- Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital – No. 45
- Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital – No. 87
- Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital – No. 110
- Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital – No. 329
Recently, Cleveland Clinic also received honors in a February Newsweek ranking that named the hospital No. 7 among America's best fertility clinics.
Cleveland Clinic ranked among the world's best in all 11 Newsweek categories - cardiac surgery, cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurology, neurosurgery, pulmonology and urology.
