The Cleveland Clinic has updated is visitation guidelines for all of its locations throughout Ohio and Florida.

Updated guidance will now permit two visitors (ages 18 and older) per patient in all care settings, including those with COVID-19.

“We are optimistic about the ongoing decrease of COVID-19 positivity rates, both at our testing sites and in our communities,” the Cleveland Clinic said in a press release Monday morning. “This sustained trend means we are able to safely invite more visitors back to see our patients.”

Here's what you need to know about the Cleveland Clinic's visitation rules:

  • Visitation hours remain 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19 can visit a patient no less than 10 days after testing positive or being exposed.
  • Visitors are required to wear masks, pass a COVID-19 health screening and sanitize their hands upon arrival.

Visitors to patients with COVID-19 must follow these guidelines:

  • If you have a loved one in the hospital as a COVID-positive patient and they are allowed to have visitors, you will be asked to take extra precautions.
  • Please put on personal protective equipment before visiting your loved one. This equipment includes a gown, mask, goggles or face shield, and gloves. It’s important to follow the guidelines and wear all parts of this equipment. Cleveland Clinic caregivers will provide this equipment for you and tell you what order to put it on and how to take it off after your visit.
  • We base our visitation guidelines on data showing how COVID-19 is spreading, including state and county public health information. These guidelines are in place for the safety of our patients, caregivers and the community. They are subject to change if the facility gets crowded and safe physical distancing isn’t possible.
