SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — The coronavirus pandemic is impacting thousands of people across Northeast Ohio, especially those on the front-lines working to help keep us safe.

On Thursday, the Akron Zoo wanted to show their appreciation and donated approximately 1, 400 N-95 masks to the Summit County Emergency Management Agency.

The supplies donated from the zoo's stockpile will go to first responders, doctors, nurses, other hospital personnel and more! The zoo took to social media Thursday evening to share the good news.

In addition to making the donation, the zoo also announced that they registered their two ventilators to the state registry.
