AKRON, Ohio — Akron police are investigating after two people were hurt in a shooting Tuesday afternoon at a car wash in the 1100 block of South Main Street.

Police say it was around 1:44 p.m. when officers responded to the scene at a local car wash, but no victims were found upon their arrival.

“What they did find on the scene were shell casing and other evidence of a crime,” according to a press release from the Akron Police Department.

A short time later, police were notified that two victims -- ages 28 and 29 -- were dropped off at a local hospital with gunshot wounds.

Police say both victims have injuries that are not life-threatening.

“Based on preliminary information, detectives believe that an unknown suspect shot the victims during an altercation at the establishment,” police say. “Investigators are working to gather additional information that will assist them in identifying the person or persons responsible.”

No additional details were immediately available.
