Summit County Crimestoppers, ATF offering reward totaling $7,500 in case of murder of 8-year-old Akron girl

ATF is investigating this incident with the Akron Police Department.

AKRON, Ohio — Summit County Crimestoppers and The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) have each announced rewards for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for the murder of eight-year-old MiKayla Pickett on Friday in Akron.

In addition, an unnamed 14-year-old juvenile was injured during the shooting. Police say she sustained a leg wound that was not life-threatening.

Summit County Crimestoppers, Inc., is offering a reward of up to $5,000, while the ATF is offering a $2,500 reward. 

At approximately 11:45 p.m. on August 14, unknown suspects shot at a private residence on the 700 block of Roselle Avenue where a birthday party was being held. MiKayla was shot and killed, and the unnamed juvenile was injured.  

ATF is investigating this incident with the Akron Police Department.
