CANTON, Ohio — Two firefighters suffered minor injuries while battling a fire at a Canton business on Sunday night.
According to a press release from the Canton Fire Department, firefighters responded to calls of a building fire at 1800 Wallace Ave NE at 7:18 p.m.
When fire crews arrived, they found a large fire coming through the roof on the north side of the building. As firefighters battled the blaze, the roof and part of a wall completely collapsed on the north side of the building.
Several explosions happened while firefighters attempted to put the fire out. These explosions were said to be from acetylene and oxygen tanks stored inside of the business.
One of the injured firefighters was able to continue assisting other firefighters in putting out the fire, however the other injured firefighter was not able to continue.
The fire is currently under investigation.
