The victim was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

NORTH CANTON, Ohio — Ohio State Highway Patrol officials are investigating after a 64-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash in North Canton.

OSHP says the crash happened Saturday at 3:36 p.m. on Whipple Avenue and Fourth Street Northwest in Perry Township when an Acura made a left turn and failed to yield, turning in front of a Suzuki motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was ejected from his motorcycle.

The victim, who has since been identified as Robert Dennis of Canton, was taken by EMS to Aultman Hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.

Officials do not believe that alcohol or drugs are factors in the crash.

At this time, the crash remains under investigation and is the eighth fatal crash in Stark County this year.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by Perry Township Fire Department, Canton Township Fire Department and Canton Towing at the scene.
