Strongsville High School football players caught stealing from Pro Football Hall of Fame

The Pro Football Hall of Fame confirmed to 3News that all of the items were recovered and returned by Strongsville administrators.

CANTON, Ohio — A group of football players from Strongsville High School were caught stealing merchandise from the museum's retail store during a tour last week.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame told 3News that items valued at about $1,000 were stolen from the retail store when the Strongsville High School football team visited on Friday, Oct. 27. 

Strongsville administration responded quickly to the incident and recovered and returned all of the items that day. 

The Pro Football Hall of Fame confirmed to 3News that no police report was filed and that no students were charged. School officials say that the students involved have been disciplined. 

Strongsville City Schools released the following statement to 3News regarding the incident: 

"Our District is aware of the incident involving the theft of merchandise by some of our football players last Friday at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Our High School administrators conducted a thorough investigation and all of the merchandise has been returned. Following this investigation, students who were involved in the theft of items have been disciplined in accordance with our student code of conduct."
