Fines for attempting to carry a loaded weapon onto a flight start upwards of $4,000

CLEVELAND — The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at Cleveland Hopkins Airport (CLE) successfully stopped a man from boarding a flight with a loaded handgun over the weekend.

According to a press release from the TSA, around 5:00 a.m. on September 12, officers were alerted to a man holding a weapon in his carry on, which they immediately confiscated.

“Passengers are reminded that firearms are not allowed at airport security checkpoints,” said Ohio’s TSA Federal Security Director Don Barker. “Our TSA officers remain vigilant during this pandemic and after our 19th-anniversary remembrance of the 9/11 attacks to help keep our flight crews and passengers safe.”
