CLEVELAND — There is a dire need for blood. That’s why the American Red Cross and the Cleveland Clinic partnered together for a special blood drive on Tuesday at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.

According to the Red Cross, the winter months can be the most challenging time of the year to collect an adequate amount of blood donations due to the hectic schedules that many donors are facing as the holidays approach, paired with inclement weather making it difficult at times to have blood drives.

The Red Cross strongly encourages those who are healthy and feeling well to give blood so that a stable supply may be maintained for those who need it.

For those interested in donating, the Red Cross strongly suggests scheduling an appointment before showing up so that the flow of donors can be properly managed to maintain social distancing protocols. To sign up for an appointment, head to RedCrossBlood.org and enter the sponsor code ROCKET. Appointments may also be made by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS.

Those who donate on Tuesday will receive a commemorative T-shirt, free tickets to a Cleveland Monsters and Cleveland Charge game, as well as an exclusive Cleveland Cavaliers ticket offer. Those who donate will also be entered to win an autographed Cavs item in a raffle.
