CLEVELAND — “I’m hurt. I’m very hurt. Oh, I’m very hurt.”

Sam Sylk, who hosts a show on 93.1 WZAK, is taking a stand against a now viral Facebook post that complains about food in his restaurant.

His response comes after a picture was posted around 8:30 p.m. Saturday showing moldy bread that was served with a customer’s sandwich at the Sam Sylk’s Chicken and Fish location on Lee Road in Cleveland.

Look at this... Went to Sam's Sylks on Lee Rd and they gave me some damn molded bread

That picture has more than 1,600 shares as of 11:30 a.m. Monday.

“I’ve never had so much shares ever of anything positive that I’ve ever done, that we do,” Sylk said in an 11-minute Facebook live Sunday. “Never. Never. People love negativity. Oh, do they love it.”

While Sylk admitted it was a mistake that never should’ve happened in his restaurant, he added that the customer’s Facebook complaint was posted after he resolved the issue.

“We refunded that customer immediately,” Sylk said. “I got involved, like I do. Like I always do. … But yet, it was a moment to go in on Sam Sylk. It was a moment that people needed on a Saturday night and a Sunday morning when they should be worrying about some other stuff or praying about something, trying to figure about their future, but Sam Sylk is trending on an unacceptable mistake.”

He said some folks who have asked him for donations in the past are the same people sharing and liking the negative post.

“We have to stop tearing down our community, people. We have to be more accountable and do more and work harder in our community. Stop tearing it down. Stop tearing it down. Me today. You tomorrow.”

He vowed to keep pushing to make the community a better place.

“An error was made, and it was taken care of, but nobody is talking about that. It’s just a time, ‘We want to go in on Sam Sylk.’ … We’re going to keep on working hard. It’s part of the process. I gotta go through it. I gotta bump my head. I’m going to make mistakes.”

He also offered this reminder: “Every place that you drive by that’s successful and open has messed up. Big time.”

Since Sylk's Facebook live response, the customer commented on her own post saying he's "trying to do damage control but it's too late."
