CLEVELAND — A 29-year-old man and 24-year-old woman were both found dead with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle early Sunday morning. The pair has been identified at Michael Cruz and Erneasha Swift ,both from Cleveland.
Police say there were also three other people in the vehicle -- including two children, ages 5 and 1.
It was around 12:30 a.m. when officers responded to the 3100 block of West 31st Street for a shooting incident. Upon their arrival, officers found five people inside a Nissan Pathfinder. Two adults were dead in the front seats, police say.
A 29-year-old woman in the back seat had sustained a head injury, but the two children were unharmed. All three were taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Police say the 24-year-old woman who was killed is the mother of the two children.
“Preliminary information indicates that someone in a dark-colored SUV opened fire on the Nissan and drove off,” police said in a press release.
No arrests have been made.
